Stumpy Joe - Sugar and Glue. Top Drawer Records 7" TDR V2.

Very much 'a game of two halves' is this release. The a-side, Sugar and Glue, is perfect rip-snorting garage. The b-side is an insipid cover of the insipid theme for a totally so-what TV series. Stumpy Joe was, of course, the ill-fated Spinal Tap drummer who 'choked on vomit of unknown origin, other than his own'. "Because you can't really dust for vomit." In the documentary, This Is Spinal Tap, Stumpy Joe is brought back to life by well-known drummer and producer Russ Kunkel. (Not a made-up name, honest). Enjoy.

  1. stumpy Joe was an AMAZING party band. They had the 2nd record ever released on Estrus (Monomen being the first of course)

Top Drawer Records put out a great full length comp of pop-punk & garage and a handful of 45s (mostly Sicko related) before dissolving.

Great blog. we have a lot of the same records, but I live in seattle where they were easy to get. You have good taste.
